A Vexation!

LTNS!!!

This post is not actually a happy note. It's a sad note indeed. :(

I happened to hear some of the excellent songs of Ilayaraja (most of them were his post 2000 compositions). Even though the songs were outstanding in terms of compositions, I felt something missing in some of the songs. Yeah. It's the voice of SPB.

I really don't know why IR does not consider SPB.

IR and SPB are like two sides of a coin. Most of the IR songs of 1980s have been successful and credit equally goes to IR for composing and SPB for giving life to that song.

Now, I find no reason why IR has stopped his association with SPB. SPB is still the same in singing. SPB sir still holds the energy, the modulation, the enthusiasm which he had in 1980s. Can someone believe that Kannal Pesum Penne (Mozhi), Yaro yarukkul (Ch28) are sung by a 64 yrs old (young actually ;) ) singer?

The tracks which I listened:

Nandhala songs
Yaarum Thodatha (Ajantha) - IR's voice suits this song well... Hmmm...
Gajiraho Kanavile - Oru Nal Oru Kanavu

We're missing something costly. I want to listen to SPB's voice in IR's music. Will this happen? God knows!!

Vexed,
Vini...

To start off with...

SP Balasubramaniam, popularly known as SPB sir is truly a Gift to Indian Cinema! This one word is not at all enough to describe this Legend. No langauge in this universe can actually have a word to describe this Living Legend!!!

As my blog description says,
Kuzhal Inidhu, Yaazh Inidhu enbartham makkal,
Bala-sir Kural Kelathavar

I hope Thiruvalluvar would not mistake me for using his Kural to describe this Legend's Kural. SPB is a Magic, a Miracle, a God in singing!!!

I was hesitant to start this blog. Coz, I don't know if I will be able to update this blog with surfeit of information about this Legend.

I'll surely try to come up with so much of new, old, known, unknown, latest information about this Legend.

Keep watching this space!!!

Regards,
Vinith
